Exhibition World Bahrain’s first quarter of 2023 saw an eventful calendar of multiple international events and exceptional performances during February and March. The venue successfully hosted a total of 8 events: 5 international and 3 local, during the months of February and March 2023, attracting more than 70,000 visitors.
Exhibition World Bahrain’s February event calendar kicked-off with the International Downstream Conference & Exhibition (GDA), the leading Middle East strategic platform for international downstream professionals, from 13th – 15th of February. GDA attracted approximately 4,000 international and local visitors.
Middle East Oil, Gas and Geosciences Show (MEOS GEO 2023), a merger of two events taking place at the same time, from 19th – 21st of February, capturing the upstream industry’s value chain under one roof. MEOS GEO 2023 together attracted more than 10,000 visitors, with an exhibitor profile of 180 companies from over 20 countries.
February ended with two local events, the 12th Edition of Abdulrahman International School Model United Nations from 24th – 25th February with a total of 650 visitors, and the BBK Festival held for bank customers and the public, that took place on the 25th of February and with more than 2,000 visitors.
Moreover, in March, Exhibition World Bahrain welcomed for the first time in the Kingdom, two world-class performances at the Grand Hall stage, Swan Lake and Sleeping Beauty – Aurora’s wedding by the Imperial Russian Ballet, which took place between the 2nd and 4th of March. The magnificent masterpiece performances included 300 performers and 120 members of the State Symphonic Orchestra, and were an astounding success enjoyed by over 4,000 visitors.
The Bahrain International Garden Show (BIGS) was held this year under the theme ‘Water: Regenerating Life”, under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, from the 9th – 12th of March. BIGS was a great success, with approximately 45,000 visitors.
March ended with the 146th Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Assembly that took place from March 11th to 15th, inaugurated, on behalf of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, by the Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa. The 146th IPU Assembly was attended by a total of 2,000 visitors from around the globe, with hundreds of parliamentarians from all over the world attending the deliberations on the overall theme of promoting peaceful coexistence and inclusive societies: Fighting intolerance.
Chief Executive Officer of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority, Dr. Nasser Qaedi stated that Bahrain is ready to attract large-scale international events stressing BTEA’s commitment to continue to attract renowned international exhibitions, conventions and live performances from around the world, to achieve Bahrain tourism’s strategic objectives including boosting the Kingdom’s business tourism and ensuring a higher percentage of contribution to the Kingdom’s GDP from the tourism sector.
Exhibition World Bahrain hosted the launch of the spectacular Jertour Dashing car by Motor City on the 9th of April. The International Peace Festival of Balaji will be held at Exhibition World Bahrain on the 28th of April and world-renowned Classic Ballet shows in a continued collaboration with Common Ground International from 4th-6th May. On the 6th to the 8th of May, the Global Higher Education Exhibition (GHEDEX) will take place for the first time in Bahrain.
Exhibition World Bahrain will continue to host and attract international, regional and local exhibitions, conferences and events, to strengthen the Kingdom’s position as a regional pioneer in the MICE industry.
